FORMER PAKISTANI PRIME MINISTER BENAZIR BHUTTO WAS KILLED THURSDAY AS SHE LEFT A RALLY IN RAWALPINDI. THE WOULD-BE ASSASSIN THEN DETONATED A BOMB KILLING HIMSELF AND 20 OTHERS.

THE ELECTIONS ARE DUE TO TAKE PLACE NEXT WEEK BUT ARE NOW SERIOUSLY IN DOUBT. IF SHE HAD WON BHUTTO WOULD HAVE SECURED THE PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE FOR A THIRD TERM.

SHE HAD RETURNED IN OCTOBER TO PAKISTAN FROM SELF ENFORCED EXILE TO TAKE PART IN THE ELECTIONS.

EVEN AS SHE CELEBRATED HER RETURN A BOMB EXPLODED NEAR HER MOTORCADE KILLING AT LEAST 130 PEOPLE.

YET IN THE FACE OF RECENT DEATH THREATS SHE HAD CAMPAGNED TIRELESSLY, SPEAKING OUT AGAINST RADICAL ISLAMIC GROUPS IN THE COUNTRY.

SADLY SHE FINALLY MET HER FATE AS SHE WAS SHOT AT AS SHE LEFT THE RALLY.

THE WOULD-BE ASSASSIN FIRED THREE TIMES AT MS. BHUTTO BUT MISSED.

A CELL PHONE CONVERSATION WAS INTERCEPTED BY PAKISTANI INTELLIGENCE FROM A TOP AL-QAEDA MEMBER CONGRATULATING THE GROUP RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK.

UPON IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION IT HAS BEEN REVEALED THAT PAKISTANI INTELLIGENCE SERVICES ALSO MONITORED A CELL PHONE CONVERSATION ON DEC. 6TH BETWEEN A MILITANT LEADER AND A LOCAL CLERIC IN WHICH A CERTAIN MAULANA ASADULLAH KHALIDI WAS NAMED.

THAT SAME DAY HE WAS ARRESTED IN KARACHI. THIS ARREST LED TO THE ARREST OF A VERY HIGH PROFILE NON-PAKISTANI MILITANT LEADER. HIS ARREST UNCOVERED AN OPERATION AIMED AT WIPING OUT "PRECIOUS AMERICAN ASSETS" IN PAKISTAN INCLUDING BENAZIR BHUTTO AND PAKISTANI PRESIDENT MUSHARRAF .

FURTHER INTERROGATIONS HAVE REVEALED THE EXISTENCE OF A HUGE AL-QAEDA NETWORK DESIGNED TO TRACK DOWN AND KILL "AMERICAN ASSETS."

LATE TODAY AN AL-QAEDA SPOKESMAN SAID BHUTTO'S DEATH WAS "OUR FIRST VICTORY."

THIS RAISES ALL KINDS OF QUESTIONS AND PROBLEMS. PAKISTAN IS NOW DESCENDING INTO A RIOT TORN COUNTRY WITH NO SOLID LEADERSHIP.

RUSSIA ALSO BOASTS THE 7TH LARGEST OIL RESERVES, EXCEEDING 70 BILLION BARRELS. BUT THAT ISN'T ALL. VAST AREAS OF SIBERIA AND THE ARCTIC ARE AS YET MOSTLY UNEXPLORED AND COULD YIELD MUCH MORE.

AT PRESENT EUROPE IMPORTS 50% OF NATURAL GAS AND 25% OF ITS OIL FROM RUSSIA.

HOWEVER, ANY SUGGESTION OF EUROPEAN SELF SUFFICIANCY IN ENERGY IS MISPLACED. EUROPE'S ENERGY SUPPLY IS IN RAPID DECLINE.

BY 2030 OIL PRODUCTION IS EXPECTED TO HAVE DECLINED BY 73% AND GAS PRODUCTION BY 59%. BY 2030 2/3 OF EUROPES ENERGY WILL HAVE TO BE IMPORTED. BUT FROM WHERE?

A RUSSIA SPECIALIST AT THE U.S. THINK TANK, HERITAGE FOUNDATION, RECENTLY WROTE:

"It is in the US's strategic interests to mitigate Europe's dependence on Russian energy. The Kremlin will likely use Europe's dependence to promote its largely anti-American foreign policy agenda. This would significantly limit the maneuvering space available to America's European allies, forcing them to choose between an affordable and stable energy supply and siding with the US on some key issues."

SUPPOSING, IN THE COMING DAYS, RUSSIA TOOK AN AGRESSIVE ANTI-ISRAEL POSITION AND DECIDED TO MOVE INTO THE MIDDLE EAST? HOW WOULD EUROPE RESPOND IF AT THE SAME TIME RUSSIA HELD EUROPE TO RANSOM OVER MUCH NEEDED OIL AND GAS SUPPLIES?

MY GUESS IS EUROPE, WHICH IS PRETTY ANTI-ISRAEL ANYWAY, WOULD BE FORCED TO STAND BY AND WATCH ISRAEL BEING ATTACKED.

SO IN ORDER TO STAVE OF SUCH AN APOCALYPTIC EVENT, THE USA, HAS OVER THE LAST YEAR, BEEN PUSHING FOR THE DEVELOPEMENT OF NEW ENERGY TRANSIT LINES, THAT WOULD BY-PASS RUSSIA, FROM THE CASPIAN AND CENTRAL ASIA THROUGH TO EUROPE. THIS WOULD MAKE TURKEY (NOT RUSSIA) THE CENTRE FOR EUROPEAN ENERGY SUPPLIES.

SO SERIOUS IS THE SITUATION THAT NO LESS THAN 16 DELEGATIONS FROM THE USA VISITED ASHGABAT TO DISUADE THE SIGNING OF ANY ENERGY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE RUSSIANS AND ASIA.

ALL TO NO AVAIL. ON DECEMBER 12TH 2007 RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER VIKTOR VUBKOV SIGNED AN AGREEMENT FOR THE CREATION AND OPENING OF THE CASPIAN LITTOROL PIPELINE. A PIPELINE THAT WILL BE UNDER RUSSIAN CONTROL PROVIDING ENERGY TO EUROPE. THANKS TO MOTHER RUSSIA.

AT RUSSIAN PRICES.

THIS WILL LEAVE EUROPE WITH ONLY ONE OTHER OPTION FOR HER GAS IMPORTS.

IRAN.

EARLIER, IN MAY, 2007 PUTIN STRUCK AGAIN WHEN HE SIGNED AN AGREEMENT WITH AUSTRIA FOR RUSSIA'S "GAZPROM" TO EXPAND ITS OPERATIONS INTO EUROPE. GAZPROM WILL BUILD A CENTRAL EUROPEAN GAS HUB AND TRANSIT MANAGEMENT CENTRE. IT WILL BE THE LARGEST IN EUROPE AND WILL BE A JUMP OFF POINT FOR FURTHER EUROPEAN VENTURES BY RUSSIA.

THEN IN NOVEMBER 2007, GAZPROM SIGNED AN AGREEMENT WITH ITALY FOR A $5.5 BILLION PROJECT FOR THE BUILDING OF A 900 KILOMETER GAS PIPELINE FROM RUSSIA'S BEREGOVAYA ON THE BLACK SEA TO BULGARIA WHERE IT WILL SPLIT INTO TWO BRANCHES REACHING SOUTHERN ITALY, GREECE AUSTRIA SLOVENIA, BULGARIA ROMANIA AND HUNGARY.

THUS THE RUSSIAN STRANGLEHOLD ON EUROPEAN ENERGY IS TAKING PLACE AT AN ALARMING RATE.

NOW LET'S MOVE TO IRAN. RUSSIA AND IRAN ARE CLOSER NOW THAN THEY HAVE EVER BEEN. THE BIBLE STATES IN EZEKIEL 38 AND 39 THAT WHEN THE RUSSIAN INVASION OF THE MIDDLE EAST TAKES PLACE PERSIA OR MODERN DAY IRAN WILL BE AN ALLY.

Russia and Iran control roughly 20% of world's oil reserves and close to half of the world's gas reserves, and it makes good sense to accommodate each other. Iran is indeed an important energy partner for Russia for many reasons. Russian oil companies, flush with funds, are keen to invest abroad. The Iranian upstream oil and gas sector and Iran's energy ventures, such as pipeline projects, offer an attractive proposition for Russian investment. Once the US's engagement of Iran commences, Tehran will have plenty of choice while accessing foreign capital and advanced upstream oil and gas technology. Russia and Iran are in profound agreement in their opposition to the US-led trans-Caspian pipeline projects.

SO LET'S TAKE A STEP BACK AND LOOK AT THIS PICTURE.

1. RUSSIA IS BEGINNING TO FLEX ITS MUSCLES IN THE FIELD OF ENERGY SUPPLY AND HAD OUT PLAYED THE USA IN EVERY MATCH. THEY NOW ARE BEGINNING TO HAVE A STRANGLEHOLD ON THE INCREASING EUROPEAN NEED FOR ENERGY SUPPLY SOURCES.

2. RUSSIA AND IRAN HAVE HUGE AMOUNTS OF OIL AND GAS RESERVES AND ARE WORKING ACTIVELY TOGETHER ON VARIOUS PROJECTS.

3. BOTH DISLIKE THE WEST PARTICULARLY THE USA.

4. BOTH DISLIKE ISRAEL AND SUPPORT (IN RUSSIA'S CASE AT LEAST IN WORDS) TERRORIST GROUPS WORKING AGAINST ISRAEL.

5. BOTH ARE NAMED IN THE BIBLE AS BEING ALLIES IN A FUTURE ATTACK ON ISRAEL.

Moscow adds another anti-air, anti-missile layer – S-300 – to defend Iran’s nuclear facilities against Israel attack

DEBKAfile’s military and Iranian sources report that, while Russian-Iranian military ties are burgeoning rapidly, no complaint is heard from Jerusalem.
Iranian defense minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar announced Wednesday, Dec. 26 that he and a visiting Russian delegation had just signed a contract for the supply of another Russian anti-air weapon, the highly sophisticated S-300, rated the most effective killer of ballistic missiles on the market.
The news came a day after Russian air defense officers and technicians arrived in Tehran to install TOR-M1 missile batteries at Iran’s nuclear facilities; and two weeks after the delivery of Russian uranium fuel rods for Iran’s atomic reactor at Bushehr.
Military sources say that Moscow has designed the multi-layer air defense system to make Iran proof against Israel’s Air Force and the ballistic missiles in its armory. Yet not a murmur has been heard from prime minister Ehud Olmert or strategic threats minister Avigdor Lieberman, who is fond of boasting about his friendly ties with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
While TOR-M1 can locate and destroy moving targets at low altitudes, the S-300 system uniquely zaps high-flying, medium-range ballistic missiles of the type which is the backbone of Israel’s surface missile units at a distance of 1-40 km. Together, they lend Iran air superiority over any missiles and aircraft.
Another of S-300’s significant features is its advanced guidance method which relies on a single phased array radar to trace missiles in the air. This reduces its deployment time to five minutes; secondly, the missiles are sealed rounds and require no maintenance over their lifetime.
Our military sources add that Syria will soon to receive the S-300, as Damascus and Tehran progress toward a unified military command. They will provide coverage against attack for the territory between the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf.

Russian TOR-M1 protects Iran's nuclear plants
Tuesday, Dec. 25, Mikhail Dmitriev, head of the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, announced the imminent installment of sophisticated Russian TOR-M1 missile batteries at Iran’s nuclear installations. Our Iranian and Moscow sources report that, only a few days ago, Moscow shipped nuclear fuel to Iran for its atomic reactor at Bushehr and committed to have the reactor up and running next year.
DEBKAfile’s military sources assert that the multi-functional, multiple layer hardware substantially upgrades the shield protecting Iran’s banned uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Isfahan, as well as Bushehr, from many types or air and missile attack.
The TOR-M1 is designed to intercept “stealth” aircraft, helicopters and drones as well as laser-guided precision bombs, rockets and cruise missiles. Traveling at a speed of 700 kph up to a range of 25km, it can destroy any of these incoming objects 12 km before they make contact with target.
Another outstanding feature is the weapon’s ability to function in all weather conditions day and night against two simultaneous targets.
The eight-missile battery mounted aboard an armored vehicle (see picture) functions as an autonomous command platform for intelligence-gathering, determining targets, firing missiles and their in-flight guidance. Its 3D pulse Doppler electronic beam feeds data on 48 targets simultaneously to the system’s firing computers, selecting the ten most dangerous and responding in 5-8 seconds. Its crew are protected against nuclear, chemical and biological warfare.

I can understand how you are feeling regarding the view of the Rapture of the Church and if and when it will occur.

I have no problem with if it will occur. Scripture states it plainly.

I am no expert by any means, Me neither but I have looked into the study of the end times as it is of personal interest to me.The idea of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture comes as a comfort to any believer, and it is an idea that Christians cling to as a source of hope, especially in recent times. I have bounced back and forth on the issue, at one point, believing that there might not be any occurrence of Rapture at all, but I am now comfortable in stating that I believe true Spirit filled Christians will be spared from Daniel's 70th week or Tribulation Period.

One of the huge errors I find today is believers thinking the Tribulation will last the entire 70th week of Daniel. It doesn't.

Dan 9:27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

Dan 7:25 And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time. (Or three and a half years.)

Mat 24:15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),

Mat 24:21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.

Rev 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

Rev 11:2 And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. (or 3 and a half years.)

Notice Satan doesn't come down to earth until the half way point of Daniel's 70th week.

Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe for the earth and for the sea: because the devil is gone down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.

Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Rev 12:14 And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, (3 and a half years @360 days per year) from the face of the serpent.

To me it seems very clear the Tribulation is only 3 and a half years. Nowhere in scripture is a 7 year Tribulation ever mentioned. It begins half way through Daniels 70th week....the final 7 years. The first 3 and a half years are the beginning of sorrows and run into the Tribulation (final 3 and a half years) when Antichrist reveals his true intentions.

But note also they are 7 years @ 360 days a year!! Half way is 1260 days. So where do these prophecy movies get the idea of Antichrist saying things such as" Now is the start of our 7 year peace plan?" They are 7 biblical years which, if one checks it out are one month short of our 7 years @ 364 days. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The reasons for this view are myriad, and I will try to explain them.Firstly, when we look at other times of God given judgment aimed at humanity for their transgressions, we see a merciful "sparing" of the righteous. For instance, Noah, was given knowledge from God of the coming flood, and was instructed as to how to survive it. God saved Noah and his family from the judgment by preserving them in the ark.

They left the same day the flood came not 7 years before..

Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Gen 7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Gen 7:13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Another example might be the story of Lot who was also given advanced knowledge of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and was able to escape beforehand.

Again, they left the same day judgement fell not 7 years before.

Gen 19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

I think the most compelling of all is the Passover story, which gives us a visual of the obedient children of Israel that covered their doorposts with the blood of the lamb and were spared God's final judgment.

Interestingly, they were still in Egypt when the judgements fell. They had not left.

Matthew 24 shows the Lord Jesus collecting us at the end of the Tribulation. There is the argument that this is His coming for the Jews as in Matthew 24 He is speaking to Jews.

My answer to that is a question:

When wasn't He speaking to Jews? Jesus is here speaking to believers..His innermost circle of friends and throughout the conversation He says "When you see..." "They will say to you..." These are believers!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To me, each plague that rained down on Egypt, (yet Pharaoh continued to harden his heart) are a direct foreshadowing of the coming judgments of God. The book of Revelation tells us that after each judgment, the people still would not repent. That being said, wouldn't we, also covered by the Blood of The Lamb, be spared from that terrible judgment?

But as we see above that does not mean we have to leave before the judgement falls. However, I do believe we shall leave before it falls. When is that? At the end of the Tribulation, after Satan and Antichrist have attacked the church. Note there are another 75 days that follow the tribulation according to Daniel and Matthew.

Dan 12:11 And from the time that the continual burnt offering shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, (Mid-way into the 7 years...1260 days) there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Dan 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Mat 24:29 But immediately, after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Another way to look at things is to question the purpose of the Tribulation period and the role of the Church. Aren't we even now proclaiming, "Prepare ye the way of the Lord"? If the church is "taken out", who will proclaim this and wouldn't it be much easier for the people to "believe the lie", if there is no one here to dissuade them?

The lie will be so reasonable and full of demonic logic. Remember Satan has had thousands of years to perfect his lying skills.

And I am sorry but again this is something Pre-Tribbers come up with........ reasoning but no actual statement from scripture. The rapture of Matthew 24 is completely ignored.

If the Church is present during this time, what is the reason for the 144,000 Jewish men that God would raise up to be His servants?

I do not know. The Bible doesn't say. Unless it is so that Jews can witness to their own and not have a Gentile giving them the Gospel.

And for that matter, what would be the purpose for the Two Witnesses Same reason also proclaiming the Word of the Lord.or the Angel of Chapter 14, preaching the Gospel and warning against the mark of the beast?

Again, I do not know. But we cannot build a doctrine (Pre-Trib or any other) on texts we cannot fully understand and where God has not specifically revealed their reason or meaning.I believe that when the "Restrainer" will be removed from the earth, which is the Holy Spirit, (Who says it is the Holy Spirit? I can't find one scripture where He is called the restrainer. There are more valid reasons for believeing the restrainer could be Michael the archangel) then any spirit-filled believer would be removed as well. The Lord said he would send His comforter for us, why would He leave us in an ultimate time of peril without the protection of His Spirit? He wouldn't. I believe that the "time of Jacob's trouble" is for the world and Jacob's children especially. It will be a time for the world and Israel to hopefully realize that Jesus really is the Saviour and to repent. It is sad to say, but I know many unbelievers that would probably have to go through this in order to see the truth and come to repentance.

We also need to look at one last thing, which Jesus gave us many parables about: The Bride of Christ and the Marriage of the Lamb to His Bride. When looking at ancient Hebrew wedding customs, we see many parallels to things Jesus referred to. Firstly, the bride and bridegroom would become betrothed which was as binding as the marriage itself, just as Jesus has covenanted Himself to us.

Next, the bridegroom would go to his father's house and begin to prepare a bridal chamber to bring his bride to after the nuptuals. This could take a long time and the young man would not be able to fetch his bride until after his father approved that the bridal chamber was satisfactory. If one was to ask the bridegroom while in this state of preparedness when he was to marry, his reply would be "Only my father knows".

We are given assurance by Jesus that he has gone to prepare a place for us and that only the Father knows the time of His arrival to fetch His Bride. When the father gave approval for the bridegroom to fetch his wife, he would immediately go and get her. The bride not knowing when he would come, had to always be in a state of readiness, beautified for her groom. Jesus alluded to this with the parable of the wise virgins. When the bridegroom took his wife to the bridal chamber or "chuppa", they would remain there 7 days; (who is to say we will not be with him for 7 literal days?) afterward a great celebratory feast would follow. (Rev. 19.)

Rev 19:1 After these things (that is after the destruction of Babylon) I heard as it were a great voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Hallelujah; Salvation, and glory, and power, belong to our God:

Rev 19:2 for true and righteous are his judgments; for he hath judged the great harlot, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

Pretty incredible! Jesus wants us to always be ready, as we do not know the hour of His coming. I guess this is the "Thief in the night."

But Paul says:

1Th 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you.

1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

1Th 5:3 When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.

1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:

1Th 5:5 for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;

1Th 5:6 so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.

If He were to come Mid-Trib or even Post-Trib, we might be able to figure out when He would come by counting the days from the confirming of the covenant of the Antichrist. To....when? All we know fom the words of the Lord Jesus is that he comes after the Tribulation. We do not know the day, hour etc. But we do know the times. As I said earlier there are another 75 days following the Tribulation. We do not know what day the Lord will come. Probably early in this period. But we cannot be sure.
I feel that based on the assurances that Jesus gave us, knowing that He is the Good Shepherd and He told us He would never forsake His sheep, that He will be coming very soon. Christians need to watch and pray, but also to put into perspective the reason for the Rapture. It is not a "great escape" of persecution, as we know many Christians were persecuted and are continuing to be right now, but it is an escape of God's wrath on the earth. And the wrath begins when? According to many it begins at the end of Satan's wrath...at the end of the last half of the 70th week of Daniel. Of that, I am fully confident that believers will NOT be a part of. Amen! Jesus tells us that just as the days of Noah, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be. Not only are we seeing the wholly depraved manifestation of sinfulness on the earth, just as in the days of Noah, but we will also experience God's grace through His "ark" of safety for us and will spare us from His judgment. Again Noah left the same day...not seven years earlier.

PRE-TRIB RAPTURE OR ANTICHRIST?

DEAR FRIENDS, I AM GOING TO REVEAL MY HEART TO YOU. I HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP FOR THE LAST 44 YEARS OF MY CHRISTIAN LIFE TO BELIEVE IN A PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE. THAT IS A PRE-FINAL SEVEN YEARS REMOVAL OF THE CHURCH BY THE LORD JESUS.

HOWEVER, THE MORE I LOOK INTO IT AND THE MORE I READ MY BIBLE I CAN FIND NO SUCH PROMISE. MAYBE I AM WRONG. I SINCERELY HOPE SO. BUT I AM ASKING FOR SPECIFIC VERSES THAT PROMISE A PRE-SEVEN YEARS RAPTURE.

NOT VERSES THAT PROMISE "NO WRATH" BECAUSE I AGREE WE WILL NOT SEE THE WRATH OF GOD. WE WILL BE GONE IN THE RAPTURE BY THEN. BUT THERE IS MY POINT. WHEN IS THE RAPTURE? WHEN IS THE WRATH? BY TYING VERSES FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT TO THE NEW IT SEEMS TO ME THE WRATH COMES RIGHT AT THE END OF THE SEVEN YEARS.

RECENTLY I READ AN ARTICLE BY A GENTLEMAN WHO DECLARED THE "ANTIQUITY OF PRE-TRIBULATIONISM." I WAS DEEPLY PAINED BY THIS AS I EXPECTED SOME EVIDENCE FROM ANTIQUITY. THERE WAS NONE.

I HEARD A PREACHER RECENTLY JOKE "YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE OBSESSED BY THE END TIMES WHEN YOU READ "LEFT BEHIND" AS A DEVOTIONAL.

SADLY I AM BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THE PRE-TRIBULATION POSITION IS BUILT ON SAND.

PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG. I SHALL BE HAPPY TO BE WRONG. BELIEVE ME.

BELOW IS THE LETTER I WROTE.

I recently read the article by ******** on “The Antiquity of Pre-Tribulationism.”
I can only say how saddened I was to read such a slanted, unreferenced, defence of Pre-Tribulationism.

I regularly confront Jehovah’s Witnesses over the deity of the Lord Jesus and the booklet they hand out “Should You Believe the Trinity?”
I am not being intentionally rude but I have to say in all honesty this article ranks alongside the JW booklet for deceptive writing in an attempt to uphold a teaching that cannot be legitimately supported by history and the facts.

I do not doubt ******** sincerity or his desire to prove a pre-Trib. viewpoint. But to do so in such a cultish, JW, way absolutely floored me.
In the JW booklet on the Holy Spirit they use the names of Church Fathers in an effort to disprove the doctrine of the Trinity by saying Jesus is not God. In fact, the Fathers did believe Jesus to be God Almighty.

******** almost goes that low in his effort to place the Church Fathers in the Pre- Trib. camp.
He uses their names as if they believed in a pre-Tribulation rapture of the church. But doesn’t actually say so or give actual, quotes.
I can give quotes here:

Justin Martyr AD 100-168) "Two advents of Christ have been announced: the one, in which He is set forth as suffering, inglorious, dishonored, and crucified; but the other, in which He shall come from heaven with glory, when the man of apostasy, who speaks strange things against the Most High, shall venture to do unlawful deeds on the earth against us the Christians, (First Apology of Justin, Chapter 110)

Tertullian (AD 150-220) that the beast Antichrist, with his false prophet may wage war on the Church of God; (On the Resurrection of the Flesh, 25)

Irenaeus (AD 140-202) Speaking of Antichrist and his false prophet) and put the church to flight. After that they shall be destroyed by the coming of our Lord." (Against Heresies V, XXVI, 1)

Cyprian (AD 200-258) “Nor let any one of you, beloved brethren, be so terrified by the fear of future persecution, or the coming of the threatening Antichrist, as not to be found armed for all things by the evangelical exhortations and precepts, and by the heavenly warnings. Antichrist is coming… but immediately the Lord follows to avenge our sufferings and our wounds.” (Epistles of Cyprian, LIII, p.722)

Victorinus (AD 269-271) "He shall cause also that a golden image of Antichrist shall be placed in the temple at Jerusalem, and that the apostate angel should enter, and thence utter voices and oracles... The Lord, admonishing His churches concerning the last times and their dangers, ... three years and six months, in which with all his power the devil will avenge himself under Antichrist against the Church." (Commentary on the Apocalypse, 20:1-3)

Hippolytus (AD 160-240) " ... the one thousand two hundred and three score days (the half of the week) during which the tyrant is to reign and persecute the Church …” (Treatise on Christ and Antichrist, 61)

Augustine (AD 354-430) “... the kingdom of Antichrist shall fiercely, though for a short time, assail the Church... " (The City of God, XX, 23)

Lactantius(AD240-320)
There is one quotation which, if taken out of context, might suggest the expectation of an any-moment rapture. "It is permitted us to know respecting the signs, which are spoken by the prophets, for they foretold signs by which the consummation of the times is to be expected by us from day to day, and to be feared" (7,25). However, it is not the coming of Christ which was daily expected but the appearance of a series of signs which would precede the end. Lactantius believed that human history was to run a six thousand year course and to be followed by a millennium.

The others mentioned in the article I have not yet looked up.

Continuing with the article ******** writes of the Church Fathers “All were Pre-Millennial Chiliasts, even if they did not reach a consensus about the details.”
Really? They were certainly NOT Pre-Tribulationists,though. Were they?

It seems ******** overlooked the above quotes as they do not fit his argument. The Church Fathers DID, indeed, reach a consensus concerning the appearing of Antichrist and his actions against the church.
But, as I said, their views do not fit his weak Pre-Tribulation argument so they are not presented.
Rather he would have us believe from the title of the article the Pre-Tribulation view is found in antiquity. And he uses the names of these men of God to back his case but without any quotes. Shameful!

******** also states “the Church Fathers stressed the potential imminence of the Lord coming for His saints.” Where? Not before the Antichrist, that’s for sure.
Later he writes “And of course we share with the early church the unique thrill of knowing that the Lord could come at any moment with no further preconditions.”
How could the early church expect the Lord to come at “any moment” when they knew full well the Lord had told Peter how he (Peter) would die?

The Lord said to Peter: Joh 21:18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
Joh 21:19 Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

And Peter himself later testified: 2Pe 1:13 And I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
2Pe 1:14 knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle cometh swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me.

So my question is simple: How could the early church have expected an “any moment” rapture when they knew Peter had to die? If the Lord had raptured Peter before Peter’s death, Jesus would have been a false prophet because he stated Peter would die.

So immanency is dead in the water unless you want to back up and say “any time AFTER Peter’s death.”
Also one cannot say Paul wrote of immanency after Peter had died because they both died in the same year according to early church history.

Therefore it naturally follows the Apostles did NOT write of an “any moment” coming because all they had to do was look at Peter and know the Lord could not come while he was alive.

And Paul did not write after Peter’s death because they both died in the same year, in the same city and during the same persecution.

Then, incredibly, ******** writes “Having made our case for the antiquity of Pre-Tribulationism....”
I’m sorry I must have missed that part because I couldn’t see a case for Pre-Tribulationism anywhere in the article.

****, is this is the kind of “historical evidence” you publish in support of the theory, and is this what you send out to thousands of Christians in an attempt to prove your position?
I write this with a heavy heart because I do want to be convinced from scripture that there will be a Pre-Tribulation rapture. But as yet I can find no such evidence.
Sadly, in writing such an untenable, perhaps unintentionally, deceptive article, ******** has only helped me move deeper into the Post-Trib. pre-wrath camp. If I am in error PLEASE correct me.
If there are quotes from scripture for a Pre-Tribulation rapture, please present them. Not theories from silence.

If there are historical quotes from the Church Fathers for a Pre-Tribulation rapture, please present them. Not simply their names.
I love all the people I have met in **** and am grateful for the openings and speaking opportunities afforded to me in the past. However, if I am offered any speaking engagements in the future, I reserve the right to say what I believe regarding the Pre-Trib. position.

With this kind of deceptive, misleading writing coming from **** I feel obliged to speak out even though I am weak and fully conscious of my own failings.

I feel very angry that such articles are being presented to my brothers and sisters as evidence for Pre-Tribulationism.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses couldn’t have done a better job.

SHE REPLIED THEY PRAY TO BE FORGIVEN. I ANSWERED "THEN YOU HAVE BROKEN THE LAW OF MOSES, BECAUSE HE SAYS THERE MUST BE BLOOD SPILT FOR SIN. A DEATH MUST TAKE PLACE. THE DEATH OF A PURE UNBLEMISHED LAMB."

SHE TOOK A PICTURE OF A VIEW OF THE TEMPLE MOUNT THAT WAS ON SALE. WHY?

BECAUSE THE VIEW OF THE MOUNT HAD TWO PICTURES. ONE WITH THE DOME OF THE ROCK AND THE OTHER SHOWING A REBUILT TEMPLE ON THE SAME SPOT.

DEBKAfile Reports: Russia launches first naval power build-up in the Mediterranean in response to the US about-face on Iran

The Admiral Kuznetsov - first Russian carrier posted to Mediterranean
President Vladimir Putin and defense minister Anatoly Serdyukov decided to send a sortie of six Russian warships, led by the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier and the Moskva guided missile cruiser, to the Mediterranean. This will be the first prolonged stay of a Russian carrier to the eastern Mediterranean vicinity of Israel’s shores and waters patrolled by the US Sixth Fleet. On its decks are 47 warplanes and 10 helicopters. The Moskva is the Russian Navy’s Black Sea flagship.
According to our Moscow sources, the Kremlin is determined not to be left lagging behind the new Bush administration’s steps towards an accommodation with Iran, which were signaled by the US National Intelligence Estimate absolving Tehran of running a military nuclear program from 2003.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the Russian fleet, which has already set out for its new mission from the North and Black Seas, will have the use of naval facilities at Syria’s Tartous port. Its presence for several months will be a complication for the Israel navy’s operations opposite the Lebanese and Syrian coasts, especially if the Russians are joined at Tartous by Iranian submarines or warships.
The Kremlin also decided to send a sortie of ships to the northeastern Atlantic.

Temple Institute readies crown for new high priest
The Temple Institute in Jerusalem this week announced the completion of the solid gold crown the Bible instructs Israel's high priest to wear while conducting his duties at the Temple, reported Israel National News.
The crown took craftsman carefully following descriptions contained in the Bible, Jewish holy texts and various historical sources more than one year to make.
The crown will be on display in Jerusalem's Old City until the time that the Third Temple is built on the Temple Mount and Israel's priestly caste resumes its activities there.
The Temple Institute has for decades been preparing the garments and articles needed for the day the Temple is rebuilt.
Temple Institute Director Rabbi Chaim Richman told Israel National News the next task is the completion of architectural blueprints for the Third Temple, including cost projections and detailed electrical and plumbing schematics.
