SLOW PREPARATIONS FOR WAR WITH IRAN

By Joel Skousen

According to Tony Cartalucci the US Intel Director, James Clapper, Jr. admitted in a Brookings Institution symposium that US officials have long been considering the use of false flag attacks to goad Iran into attacking US troops or Israel, and thus justify the war the US wants. He quotes the Intel Director as saying “It would be far more preferable if the United States could cite an Iranian provocation as justification for the airstrikes before launching them.

Clearly, the more outrageous, the more deadly, and the more unprovoked [appearing] the Iranian action, the better off the United States would be. Of course, it would be very difficult for the United States to goad Iran into such a provocation without the rest of the world recognizing this game, which would then undermine it.”

I’m sure the National Director didn’t intend for this statement to circulate, since Brookings is a shill for government and globalism. But his statement adds to the evidence that the US has long sought an excuse to attack Iran. While the US is temporarily drawing down troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, one source claims that almost 100,000 troops are being reassigned to smaller bases surrounding Iran.

I don’t think the number is that large, nor that the US intends to invade or occupy Iran.

Mac Slavo reports that “The Pentagon has been quietly massing troops and armaments on two islands located just south of the Strait of Hormuz, and within easy striking distance of Iran. In addition to some 50,000 U.S. troops currently in the region [Kuwait] waiting for orders....

President Barack Obama is deploying an additional 50,000 soldiers to be ready for ‘any contingency’ by March: “President Barack Obama is reported exclusively by DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s military and Washington sources [all government sources, so Debka often gets taken in by disinformation.

However, in this case, I think he is right] to have secretly ordered US air, naval and marine forces to build up heavy concentrations on two strategic islands –Socotra, which is part of a Yemeni archipelago in the Indian Ocean, and the Omani island of Masirah at the southern exit of the Strait of Hormuz.

“Since 2010, the US has been quietly building giant [hardly gigantic] air force and naval bases on Socotra with facilities for submarines, intelligence command centers and take-off pads for flying stealth drones, as part of a linked chain of strategic US military facilities in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf.

“The Socotra facilities are so secret that they are never mentioned in any catalogue listing US military facilities in this part of the world [easy to do because there is already a large base there which the US has paid lots of money to occupy], which include Jebel Ali and Al Dahfra in the United Arab Emirates; Arifjan in Kuwait; and Al Udeid in Qatar – all within short flying distances from Iran.

“Additional US forces are also being poured into Camp Justice on the barren, 70-kilometer long Omani island of Masirah, just south of the Hormuz entry point to the Gulf of Oman from the Arabian Sea.”

“US air transports are described as making almost daily landings on Socotra and Masirah. They fly in from the US naval base of Diego Garcia, one of America’s biggest military facilities, just over 3,000 kilometers away. The US military presence in the region will further expand in the first week of March when three US aircraft carriers and their strike groups plus a French carrier arrive in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea: They are the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Carl Vinson, [USS Stennis], and the Charles de Gaulle nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. A fourth US carrier [USS Enterprise] will be standing by in the Pacific Ocean, a few days’ sailing time from the water off Iran’s coast.”

My sources dispute the 100,000 men claim of Debka. They say it is more like half that. There are 15,000 troops in Kuwait, not 50,000 as implied. Still, the US is not going to depend on invasion troops. I contend this is going to be an air, sea and missile attack only—not a ground invasion or occupation, which would be very unpopular.

The US and Israel will simple bomb Iran into submission. The anti-US feeling is already high in Tehran, and this will cement the US reputation as the bully of the world—which accrues to Russia and China’s favor when they finally unleash their planned nuclear attacks against the West.

The US Navy just announced the aircraft carrier Enterprise is officially being assigned to the Gulf for its final deployment prior to decommissioning. That is only done as a prelude to a major war.

2 carrier task forces is deterrence. Three or four are for attack. That doesn’t mean the attack is imminent, however. I still maintain that the US won’t attack until Ron Paul is out of the way as a presidential nominee.

Another perceived war of aggression/intervention could bring on a burst of anti-war sentiment that would only accrue to Ron Paul’s favor. Meanwhile, the US continues to claim it is against an Israeli strike. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey even went so far as tell Israeli leaders Jan. 20 that the United States would not participate in a war against Iran begun by Israel without prior agreement from Washington.

His statement technically is not a contradiction in what the US has planned since permission has already been granted. In fact, the US has been pushing Israel to do this strike for years now.

Although this little piece of political theater by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was done on orders of the White House, Dempsey was most likely unaware that there is a back channel of communication between US and Israel that is saying just the opposition of what he said in public.

Dear Bob,
I think that it is amazing that the media makes it out like Israel and America is picking on poor little old Iran.President Ahmadinejad is a complete and utter lunatic that is paving the way to getting his hands on nuclear weapons.Ahmadinejad has repeatedly called for Israel's destruction in direct and stark terms and has also made direct threats to the United States. And Russia and China wants to defend and stand behind someone like Ahmadinejad,in my opinion they are no better than he is.Had the world listened to Hitler's words and actions, the Holocaust could have been prevented. The same goes for the words and actions of those who perpetrated the more recent genocides in Rwanda,Bosnia and Darfur. The time has come to learn from these tragedies instead of letting them happen over and over.I find it amazing that the world always blames Isreal but the people of Israel are always being threatened and killed and it's like the world leaders can't see this.Any country(this includes America) that stands by and lets Ahmadinejad get his hands on nuclear weapons and then he uses them on Israel in my opinion those countries are just as responsible for innocent people dying(murder) as Ahmadinejad is.All countries deserve to be able to live in peace within their borders.God Bless,Krista.

President Ahmadinejad has had nuclear weapons for a number of years and what the media is trying to tell you about him trying to acquire them is just more of the samw BS

Dear Anonymous,
Not to be rude but you know he has had them for years how?Did you see them or is it just the same as you said the media speculating on this?It doesn't matter if he has them or if he is still trying to get his hands on them,HE HAS TO BE STOPPED!Like I said in my last comment he is a lunatic that is calling for Israel to be wiped off the face of earth and some pretty serious threats to America too.So now Ahmadinejah can put his big boy pants on and take whatever America and Israel throws at him.But of course he won't thats why he is being a coward and trying to use Russia and China to protect him.He doesn't even care about the people in his own country or he would have stopped before sanctions was put on his country,he only cares about his agenda.Which could be said about alot of world leaders,I think it is disgusting that they would rather have Ahmadinejad with nuclear weapons killing innocent people than stopping him because of oil.America and Israel has to make their own decisions and do whatever it takes to protect their countries.God Bless!Krista

Hi there Kristen; there was never any time when you made the aforementioned comments that I thought you were being rude. I just think that you are someone who is taking notice, in a literal sense, of what the general media is telling you. The facts of the matter are that for the most part what you are hearing is just nothing more of the same thing we have been hearing for years and years now whenever the powers to be wish to launch a military assault against a nation that holds vast amounts of oil. If I were to say to you that I was going to take my handgun and then go down to the local plaza and shoot up the place, would you then think that I should be arrested and tried for a crime that I have not yet committed? When all that I had done at the end of the day was to mouth off? If the answer to that is no, then why are you then suggesting that Ahmadinejad should be tried and convicted for something that he has not yet done? All that we are hearing from Ahmadinejad is just nothing more of the same type of rhetoric that we have been hearing from other leaders in the area that has recently been deposed. The Illuminati wants to do is remove all of those despots from the Middle East to take control of the oil, but in the case of Ahmadinejad, they are just too frightened to do it for fear of retaliation from the Russians. Nevertheless, what is going on with Iran also makes me think also think that what it being set up is some kind of conflict to bring the Antichrist forth as the peacemaker for the whole region. Ahmadinejad has had nuclear weapons for a number of years but that is still not to say that he can use them as there is no actual trigger for their firing, otherwise don't you think that he would have used them a long time before now? The only good that nuclear weapons do is to act as a kind of deterrent against one nation attacking another nation, and that is all. There is always the pretext of one kind or another for the Western nations to attack one of these Middle Eastern nations, and in this instance of Ahmadinejad that excuse is Iran is developing nuclear weapons. Regards

Dear Anonymous,
I'm not listening to the media,I'm going by what Ahmadinejad is saying. He has called for Israel's destruction publicly many times. And to your question about should someone be tried for a crime before they commit it,no but I would inform the police that someone was threating violence. Here in America you would be getting a knock at your door from the police and maybe a free ride to the nearest hospital for a mental evalution. In America any threats of violence is taken serious ,as it should be.By not taking threats of violence serious, that is how the Holocaust and other genocides have happened. And to the comment about fear of Russia,Most Americians would rather hhave a all out war and take the chance of losing than to ever stand back and let innocent people die or buckle under the demands or threats of some crazy world leader like Putin or Ahmadinejad. If we had a crazy President in America that killed its own people or threatened acts of violence against countries and their people he would be removed from office so fast his head would spin(legally).Thats what I love about America,is the hope, compassion and love that we have for each other and for other countries,I'm not talking about our politicans and their crazy games but the people of America.I would rather lose everything I have than to ever stand back and let someone die or not take threats seriously against countries and their people.I believe that is what God would want us to do.God Bless!Krista

Dear Anonymous,
I forgot to comment on the western countries always attacking Middle Eastern countries. It's because of the Middle Eastern countries suppressing and killing their own people.America and Britian are always crucified in the end if we do something about it and then we are crucified if we don't do something about it.So what are we supposed to do let these crazy leaders suppress or kill there own people?Should America ignore Syrian leader killing his own people?I guess the 5,000 people that are dead is just media hype or just our crazy imagination?Tell that to the people that are living over there or to the families that have had their loved ones killed.God Bless!Krista
